Why do we get sick?

Sickness, even if it is not grave is often viewed as a setback to our plans because it confines us to our bed or our homes for a time, making us anxious of unfulfilled obligations. It is an annoying disturbance to our well scheduled daily activities so we become irritable with the unplanned limitations to our activities.

When forced on our backs, it will come to us to ask ourselves, "why did I get sick?" Usually, we get sick because of stress and fatigue. Is that all? Maybe not, because illness is also God's way of reminding us that we have forgotten Him in our haste to catch up with life. It is His way of pulling us back from the disaster we are heading, a time to renew our relationship with Him.

Sickness is meant for you to take a pause and take stock of what is happening in your life and the things you haven't done. They are meant to make you lay down on your bed and look up to Me in supplication and ask for guidance. They are also meant to strengthen you, to refresh you.

Don't look at sickness as a punishment from Me, it is your punishment to yourself, for who would inflict harm on your body system other than its master? Others can't make you sick, if you do not allow them.

Be careful of the company you keep, if it is corrosive and toxic, get the hell out of there! But if it is your mother, be the one to adjust to your situation.

You are the master of your body, I am the owner. If you don't take care of your body well, I will take your life, that is how grave sickness occur.
